Are you running for office this year? All candidates for the upcoming election are invited to submit a profile to the Eye, and we'll post them as we receive them.
Tell us about yourself! Why are you running for office? What are your goals for Middletown? What are the critical issues facing the position that you are running for?
Hopefully, it goes without saying that we hope to receive input from candidates from all political parties. We've had more than a few comments lately suggesting that the Eye is an arm of the Republican party - kind of ironic. In our early days we were pegged as elitist Wesleyan lefties.
Here's some data:
In the 2009 municipal election, we had broad participation when we asked candidates for profiles. We printed statements from 13 Common Council candidates, 4 Board of Ed candidates, 2 Planning & Zoning candidates and 2 for the Board of Assessment Appeals.
We'd love to see that kind of response again - or even better. So tell us why we should vote for you!
