Mikado To Host Meet Your Greens Tomorrow

Tuesday, October 18
5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Mikado Japanese Restaurant

Sherill Baldwin, Environmental Analyst (Source Reduction and Recycling) for the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, will talk about ongoing efforts to establish Creative Reuse Centers in CT.

These centers, also known as scrap stores or teacher resource centers, are organizations that specialize in collecting and distributing unwanted industrial and residential materials for the purposes of either turning reusable materials into creative projects, or providing needed supplies to arts organizations and public schools. "The goal is to establish one brick-and-mortar center in CT," says Sherill, "and to work towards forming community-based reuse centers for the arts - whether they be closets in a school, rooms in a school building (for a school district), or a new business (non-profit or for-profit model)."
