Sunday at First Church: Change is in the Air

Sunday, Oct. 16, 10 am
The God You Don't Believe In

First Church of Christ
Congregational (UCC)

190 Court Street
Middletown, CT

Change is in the autumn air and at First Church, where we'll be Climbing Up the Mountain of choosing a new pastor over the next year or two, and we will need all the Irish Blessings that come our way.

Come visit and listen as our Interim Pastor Brenda considers “The God You Don’t Believe In.” Life experience, especially the difficult and painful, often challenges the concept of God we carry with us. The classic story of Job, who, from his misery, argues with God, invites us into our own question: What is our capacity to experience doubt, disillusionment, and the limits of our own understanding, yet remain in faith?

Second Hour includes Interim Process Conversation Number 1: What's Our Story and How Do We Feel About It?

As we prepare to begin a pastoral search in several months, we need to lay the groundwork as a congregation by talking and thinking together about where we are, what we envision, and what we need.

We'll begin this process this Sunday, and continue it during several Second Hour time blocks for some discussion prompted by Rev. Brenda. THIS IS IMPORTANT for members and all who wish be become affiliated with First Church! Please plan to attend.
